While writing was something Simon always enjoyed in school, it wasn’t until high school and even more so in college, that this passion really manifested itself on a regular basis. After re-enrolling at UConn in 2014, Simon wanted to take a non-traditional approach to his coursework, by completing a series of independent study projects. It was two of those projects which laid the foundation for his book, Front Porches to Front Lines, published in 2018.

After having studied American Studies at UConn and History at Southern New Hampshire University, Simon briefly ventured down the PhD path and it was during that time, that he settled on making writing the focal point of his career aspirations. It was during this time that he began to write poetry on a regular basis, sometimes sitting in local coffee shops for hours at a time, tapping the words into his smartphone. Some of these poems became the basis of the book, Coffee Shop Musings, published in 2021.

He is always writing and wants to help other people express their creativity via the written word and published text.
